with Gaea Lady!
Learn to use Silk Veils with Gaea Lady!
Silk ripples like water and flows like air. It is strong, supple, sensual, and steeped in history, stories, process, and myth. Combined with light and movement, silk invokes dramatic magic for the human senses.
Join Gaea Lady in this exploration of movement with silk. You will learn specific patterns, philosophies, and techniques that integrate dance with fabric. We explore dynamic whips, dreamy floats, infinite-recursive spins, weaves, drapes, wraps, and improvisation. We will ignite the senses and tap into the unique creativity within each of us. Students will dance with unweighted veils, and will also learn the basics of manipulating Gaea’s specialty weighted veils.

In 90 minutes the goal is to expand your toolbox and mindset, making it easier to connect with music even if it isn’t the style or genre that automatically makes you groove. Because as we all know, groove is in the heart!

Known as Toronto’s Urban Desire and Canada’s traplesque seductress, Zyra often uses elements of classic costuming and classic movement against urban trap music to create dynamic, edgy and fun neo acts. Dancing to trap music is all about attitude, saying “FU!” to respectability politics, unapologetically living, confidence and having fun! In this class, Zyra will teach you how to own all of that as well as do the burlesque basics (such as bumping and grinding), but to trap music! This class is choreography based and is designed to help you bring out your inner bad and bougie traplesque goddess. Learn how to move comfortably to trap music while still teasing!

Whining: Mixing Caribbean Dance & Burlesque
with Zyra Lee Vanity!
Zyra Lee Vanity has been mixing elements of Afro-Caribbean dance styles into her neo and classic burlesque numbers for the past 5 years. Her blend of styles has gained her international recognition & awards. Inspired by her Jamaican heritage, Zyra has mastered the art of whining while teasing. In this 101 workshop learn how to whine and grind, jump & wave and other Caribbean dance styles. Zyra will teach you the basics of various Caribbean dance moves and then show you how to work them smoothly into burlesque routines.
This class is designed for those with limited dance experience and involves beginner level choreography. Bring heels & a bottle of water!

This is a hip-hop, choreography, burlesque class that is about taking two types of influences & merging them into a new, unique style of expression.
All dance experience levels, gender expression welcomed. Wear layers, leg warmers & knee pads suggested. This class is 90 minutes.

The practice of placing and embracing absolute filth in your numbers without sacrificing the tease or suspense. This class is a movement class that focuses on isolating and enhancing movements of sex and desire without losing the purpose or message within your performance, peppering in the raunch and learning to love your body in front of others and to make sure they love it all.
Students should come in comfortable clothing and or costumes they want to work it, with an open mind about their sexuality and ready to move that ass. Open to all abilities. Modifications offered.

Midnite will take guide you through a warm-up to get those all those burlesque muscles heated up.
